Privacy Notice

What this website collects, what happens to anything you send us, and the rights you have over it.

Technical Information Systems Limited ("TIS", "we") is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. This notice explains what that amounts to in practice, which is very little.

This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and embeds nothing from a third party. Every file it serves — including its typefaces — comes from this domain. Reading these pages does not create a record of you anywhere; the only personal data we receive is what you deliberately type into the contact form.

What this website collects

Nothing that identifies you. There is no analytics package, no tag manager, no advertising pixel, no social media embed and no cookie of any kind, so there is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.

The contact form on our Contact page collects your name, your organisation if you give it, your email address and your message. Nothing else, and nothing is recorded about you as you browse.

When you submit it, those details are sent over HTTPS to a small function running in TIS’s own Microsoft Azure subscription, which passes them straight to a TIS mailbox as an email through our own Microsoft 365 tenant. Nothing is written to a database, a log or a file. The enquiry exists in the request, in the resulting email, and nowhere else. No third-party form service, mailing platform or CRM is involved.

Lawful basis: consent, given by the tickbox on the form. Retention: the resulting email is treated exactly as the correspondence described below.

Server logs

This site is hosted on Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps. As with any web server, Microsoft's infrastructure records standard technical information about requests — including IP address, timestamp, the page requested and browser user-agent — for the purpose of delivering the site, maintaining security and preventing abuse. TIS does not have a reporting or analytics layer over these logs and does not use them to build any profile of visitors. Microsoft acts as our processor and retains them under its own published retention schedule.

Lawful basis: legitimate interests — operating and securing a website.

If you email us

When you write to hello@tisglobal.co.uk, or to any individual TIS address, we hold your message and your contact details in order to reply and to manage the relationship that follows. That correspondence sits in our Microsoft 365 tenant.

Lawful basis: legitimate interests where you are contacting us in a business capacity, or steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract.

Retention: correspondence that does not lead to an engagement is deleted after 24 months. Correspondence forming part of an engagement is retained for the life of that engagement and for 6 years afterwards, to meet contractual, tax and professional record-keeping obligations.

Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and we do not share it for marketing. The only third parties in the path are the providers that operate our infrastructure:

  • Microsoft — website hosting (Azure) and email (Microsoft 365), under Microsoft's data protection terms.

We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law, or where it is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Where your data is held

Our Microsoft 365 tenant is configured with the United Kingdom as its data residency location. Website content is distributed by Microsoft's global edge network so that pages load quickly wherever they are requested; the pages themselves are public marketing material and contain no personal data. Any transfer outside the UK is covered by the safeguards in Microsoft's data protection terms, including the International Data Transfer Addendum.

Automated decision-making

We do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask what personal data we hold about you, and receive a copy;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • ask us to erase data we no longer have grounds to hold;
  • ask us to restrict how we use it;
  • object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests;
  • receive data you gave us in a portable form, where that right applies;
  • withdraw consent at any time, where we relied on consent.

To exercise any of these, email hello@tisglobal.co.uk. We will respond within one month. There is no charge unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at any time — ico.org.uk, or 0303 123 1113.
